  • What Religion Are You & Can You Forgive?

    I was having a conversation with an old girl friend from high school early this morning, she asked what church could she attend that would not read the scriptures to her. i thought to myself, hmmm I don’t know of a church that will not read the scriptures during the service. i thought perhaps I can do some quick research to see if there is indeed a church that does not read the scriptures during their service – you see she did not want to be preached to. in my quick search i was not able to find a “church” that does not read scripture or text from any printed book that their guidance is derived from. abruptly she asked why is it so easy for you to forgive, I told her about some situations that taught me how to forgive regardless of the infraction. Surprisingly I realized my ability to forgive is often (at first) driven by my peers and/or information I have read online, but the God I serve has a soft and kind way of helping me remember my own misdeeds which required forgiveness and I shamefully surrender my anger and start the forgiving process to those that have caused me heartache – the freedom and relief I feel instantly amazing.

    Secret societies, to some, maybe unheard of because they have remained a secret for centuries. Others, have only read about them in books and therefore, thought them to be fictional. But, in truth, some of these so-called secret societies really did exist, even with prominent members to boast of. Find out below, these real secret organizations that have brought a little confusion in the minds of other people, who believed they were just a figment of the imagination.

    1. Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn

    This secret society aims to study and practice the occult, metaphysics, and paranormal activities of the 19th and 20th centuries. It was known as a magical order that practices theurgy and spiritual development it was believed that the Golden Dawn inspired the practice of Wicca and Thelema. Some of its alleged members were Bram Stoker, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Florence Farr, among many others.

    2. Illuminati

    The name Illuminati refers to the Bavarian Illuminati, which was an enlightenment-secret society that was founded on May 1, 1776. The society’s aim was to oppose superstition, obscurantism abuse of state power, and influence of religion over public life. They were often linked to conspiracy theories, in order to dominate politics and establish a New World Order.

    3. Knights of Columbus

    The Knights of Columbus is considered the largest Catholic fraternal service organization, which serves as a benefit society of low-income Catholic immigrants. It was also developed to provide charitable services that promote Catholic education and defends religion. It was founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in the year 1882.

    4. Bilderberg Group

        The Bilderberg Group is composed of 120 to 150 Europeans and North American political elites, and those who are experts in finance, media and academia. Its aim is to promote a better understanding between different cultures of the United States and Western Europe to encourage political and economic cooperation, as well as collaborate on defense issues. They meet twice in a year to develop programs and to discuss the list of participants.

    5. Freemasonry

    Freemasonry is a fraternal organization that aims to make “better men out of good men”. An individual man needs his character to be strengthened, improve the moral and spiritual aspects of his life, and broaden his mental capacity. They also promote the belief in a “Supreme Being”, which includes the gods of different religions. They believe that a person’s ticket to salvation is through its good works and improvement of oneself.

    6. The Improved Order of Red Men

    The Improved Order of Red Men was established to thwart the injustices brought about by the English Crown. They have objected to federal welfare programs, waste in government, and Communism. The Order has also established the American Indian Development program that aims to help American Indian children in their education and health care.

    7. Ordo Templi Orientis

    The Ordo Templi Orientis is an international fraternal and religious organization. The secret organization was first modeled after Freemasonry, but was later reorganized under the Law of Thelema. The membership is based on an initiation ceremony to bond with the other members and impart spiritual and philosophical teachings.

    8. The Priory of Sion

    It was founded back in Annemasse, Haute-Savoie in 1956. The purpose of the organization was to encourage its members to mutual aid and engage in studies. Their goal was to create a Traditionalist Catholic chivalric order, wherein its members should perform good deeds, help the Catholic church, impart the truth, and aid the oppressed and the weak. Some of its suspected Grand Masters were Leonardo da Vinci, Robert Boyle, Victor Hugo, and Claude Debussy among many others.

    9. Rosicrucians

    Rosicrucianism was a secret organization founded by Christian Rosenkreuz in medieval Germany. It was “built on esoteric truths of the ancient past”, which were kept hidden. It aims to provide insight into nature, the physical universe, and the spiritual world.

        It also opposes Roman Catholicism and prefers dogma, similar to texts authored by Protestant Reformer Martin Luther.

    10. Skull and Bones

    Skull and Bones is a secret organization formed by undergraduate senior students of Yale University. The alumni organization, called the Russell Trust Association, oversees the assets of the organization. It is believed that Skull and Bones is a branch of the Illuminati and is responsible for other conspiracy theories. Others claim that the organization is responsible for globalist conspiracies aimed to control the world.

    Most secret societies were created to be a source of aid to various charitable causes. Some may have different goals, which are aimed at the spiritual enlightenment of men. We may never know what goes on behind the walls of their conference rooms, but let’s just hope that it’s all for the good of humanity.

  • Who Was That Girl

    I would see her every day in front of my building, wandering looking lost – yet I was enjoying my freedom;

    She looked homeless, without friends – yet I was enjoying my freedom.

    Did she have family she could call on – while I was busy enjoying my freedom?

    I would get home from work, exhausted from a hard day’s work and there she was looking lost and hungry – yet I was enjoying my freedom.

    The night would fall and there she was looking just as distraught as she did yesterday – yet I was enjoying my freedom.

    I would often mention her to my friends – as if I had come to know her, yet I never spoke a word to her; you see I was enjoying my freedom.

    There were days I would see her and become so angry – but I was enjoying my freedom.

    This young lady was ever growing on me, my thoughts began to get consumed by her every day as I arrived home;  who was she, what could I say to her that she would hea – I wanted her to experience my freedom.

    I would see her walking, standing or just looking lost – but either I was too busy, it was too cold, it was too late in the day, it was too dark, she wasn’t ready for my conversation; I had something more important to do; I’ll check in with her the next time I see her –I was too busy enjoying my freedom.

    Where had she gone, I realized she was  no longer roaming the streets where I lived – what happened to her;  was she in the hospital, was she laying in a dark place unable to call for help – I had now become Concerned

    When I told this story to a few gentlemen who were selling items from their local church they strongly suggested I yield to the Spirit and talk to her because she may be getting ready to leave this world…

    I was too late, I never saw her again, I searched for her day after day; week after week; I left clothes for her on the banister, I prayed for her – I was no longer too busy enjoying my freedom – yet I felt such a colossal sense of loss especially since I was perspicacious about this woman who I had never met or spoken to I had  never, could never or simply just refused to take just a few minutes of my freedom to say hello, how are you, can I help – I was like you too before I started enjoying my freedom

    I never dismiss that small voice that directs to me a stranger – some folk get angry with me, some are afraid for me – some question if that is why I’m here… I just know that every time I yield I get a sweet sense that He is with me.

    Bus Rules

    1. Put on your seat-belt – sometimes there are will be major turbulence especially when traveling in the dark;
    2. Obey the Bus Driver – not obeying the Bus Driver can cause major turbulence and cause you to get thrown to and fro.
    3. Watch out for black ice – black ice is dangerous for the Bus because you don’t always see it immediately.  You may see a warning sign and sometimes you won’t, but you will know when you come across it the Bus can begin to slip and slide uncontrollably.  With that said it is imperative that you trust the Bus Driver!

    Here’s something I did not know could happen, sometimes it appears that Bus Driver has left the Bus while it’s sitting still or it appears he is not driving the Bus, this can be very uncomfortable for you as it was for me, however, you must learn to trust that the Driver is still there.

    Visitors please be mindful of the other bus riders as they are directed to get on and exit the Bus.  The Bus Driver may ask you a question about one of your experiences while riding the Bus with me so don’t be alarmed.  I don’t know who this Bus ride is for, but I know that the bus is full of all sorts of folk, loving, envious, adulterers, greedy, unloving, angry, happy, hurt, healed, jealous, abused grateful and ungrateful people.  You will find rapists and murderers on this Bus as well as destroyers and helpers.

    At various stops along the way, you will find stories of pain, healing, grace, and rejection.  Finally, please note your Fare has already been paid for this ride.

    Just in from Time Magazine – Congressional Republicans and some White House advisers are pushing President Donald Trump to halt the Administration’s policy of separating children and adults at the U.S. border while they keep looking for a political solution.

    Statue of Liberty Inscription

    Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

    Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

    A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

    Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

    Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

    Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

    The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

    “Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she

    With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,

    Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

    The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

    Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

    I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

    Statue of Liberty – In honor of the statute’s intent to welcome immigrants, the U.S. government opened an immigration office on nearby Ellis Island in 1892. Between 1892 and 1954, Lady Liberty welcomed millions of immigrants who arrived at Ellis Island before continuing their journey into the United States. In 1883, Emma Lazarus’ “New Colossus” sonnet was selected to be the inscription at the statue’s base. Lazarus won that honor as part of a fundraising contest. In keeping with its tradition, the Statue of Liberty remains a symbol of American freedom and democracy.

    DefinitionImmigrationthe action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country

    DefinitionLiberty – the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views.

    Trump on Twitter  – “Separating families at the Border is the fault of bad legislation passed by the Democrats,” he tweeted. “Border Security laws should be changed but the Dems can’t get their act together! Started the Wall.”

    President Barack Obama – helped assemble the lethal deportation machine that Trump is currently operating, forcibly expelling as many 2.5 million people, the cruelty of such a policy has no precedent.

    Entry in the US – There are two means by which refugees can find haven in the United States: They can present themselves at an official port of entry, such as an airport or a highway checkpoint, or they can eschew these ports and enter the country on their own. (Although this method of entry is technically illegal, it has no bearing on their claims of asylum.)

    As part of its “zero tolerance” policy, the Trump administration has elected to prosecute those who enter or re-enter the country illegally, even as their asylum claims are being processed.

  • In The #Valley

    The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
          He makes me lie down in green pastures,
    he leads me beside quiet waters,
          he refreshes my soul.
    He guides me along the right paths
        for his name’s sake.
      Even though I walk
        through the darkest valley,
    I will fear no evil,
        for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
        they comfort me.

    Just who and what is a “shepherd”? Some say your mom and father are shepherds because they take of us as infants and some of us well into our adult years.  A husband can be a shepherd to his wife, (that’s my story).  Teachers are shepherds to their students, employers to their staff – basically, anyone responsible person who to takes care of another human being can be considered a shepherd.  They provide food, clothing and may shelter.

    Maslov indicated a hierarchy of needs for humans they are:

    1. Biological and Physiological needs – air, food, drink, shelter, warmth, sex, sleep.

    2. Safety needs – protection from elements, security, order, law, stability, freedom from fear.

    3. Love and belongingness needs – friendship, intimacy, trust and acceptance, receiving and giving affection and love. Affiliating, being part of a group (family, friends, work).

    4. Esteem needs – achievement, mastery, independence, status, dominance, prestige, self-respect, respect from others.

    5. Self-Actualization needs – realizing personal potential, self-fulfillment, seeking personal growth and peak experiences.

    The deficiency needs (the first 4) are said to motivate people when they are unmet. Also, the need to fulfill such needs will become stronger the longer the duration they are denied. This might be why some women will have some interesting behaviors and patterns towards men when we are single.  That’s another story you’ll find under #Cinderella when I post it later…

    Meanwhile, those needs that Maslov talks about – I find it interesting that all those needs appear to motivated by self.  Nowhere does it mention that those 5 needs can be supplied by God, the Lord or Jesus Christ.  However, if you look closely at the 5 needs and read Psalm 23 you’ll see clear and plain as day.  If that be true this #Valley or #Wilderness I’ve been in these last few months – I must believe that He will fill every  valley, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low;  and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

    Myrna Summers

    Although Satan in his rage would tear thee,
    And with all his winning arts would snare thee,
    Even down to thine old age I’ll bear thee,
    And the high place I’ll bring down.

    One more stop on the Journey to Freedom….
