    Losses: Trump’s potential exposure

Bill Cosby’s image as “America’s Dad” was tarnished after dozens of women accused the former TV star of drugging and sexually assaulting them. Cosby’s defense team was dealt a blow Wednesday when a judge said a sexual assault case against the embattled comedian could go forward. In late April 2016, rumors began to circulate online holding that Republican presidential Donald Trump had either been sued over, or arrested for, raping a teenaged girl. One of the earliest versions of the rumor was published on 2 May 2016 by the Winning Democrats web site, which reported that woman using the name Katie Johnson had named Trump and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein in a $100 million lawsuit, accusing them of having solicited sex acts from her at sex parties held at the Manhattan homes of Epstein and Trump back in 1994 (when Johnson was just 13 years old):
    Andrea Constand
More than 50 women have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct, however, he has only been criminally charged in one case. The 78-year-old comedian was arrested in December and charged with aggravated indecent assault over the alleged drugging and sexual assault of Andrea Constand, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office. Constand, a former Temple University employee, said she was drugged with multiple pills and then assaulted at Cosby’s Pennsylvania home in 2004.
The suit, first reported by the Real Deal, accuses Trump and Epstein of luring the anonymous plaintiff and other young women to four parties at Epstein’s so-called Wexner Mansion at 9 East 71st Street. Epstein allegedly lured the plaintiff, identified in the suit only as Jane Doe, with promises of a modeling career and cash.
    Judy Huth
Judy Huth claims Cosby sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 when she was 15 years old, her lawyer Gloria Allred told TIME on Thursday. Huth alleges that Cosby gave her alcohol and then molested her in a bedroom suite, according to a December 2014 court filing. Cosby, who was first deposed in the case in October 2015, was ordered on Tuesday to give a second deposition in Huth’s civil lawsuit, Allred said. Allred has 29 clients who allege they are victims of Cosby, but Huth is the only one who has sued the entertainer.
Another anonymous woman, identified in additional testimony as Tiffany Doe, corroborates Jane’s allegations, testifying that she met Epstein at Port Authority, where he hired her to recruit other young girls for his parties. Trump had known Epstein for seven years in 1994 when he attended the parties at Wexner, according to the suit. He also allegedly knew that the plaintiff was 13 years old.

    Janice Dickinson
Model and reality TV personality Janice Dickinson is suing Cosby for defamation in California. Last month, the California Courts of Appeal ruled that Dickinson cannot depose Cosby until she has proven that she has sufficient evidence under California law to move forward with her defamation claim, Cosby’s lawyer Monique Pressley said in a statement. Dickinson said Cosby drugged and raped her in 1982 in Lake Tahoe, but she did not tell police for fear of retaliation, according to Reuters.

    Kristina Ruehli
Kristina Ruehli, 72, of New Hampshire, filed a defamation lawsuit against Cosby last November in federal court in Massachusetts, according to the New York Times. Ruehli says Cosby falsely accused her of lying when she came forward last year and said he raped her in 1965 at his Los Angeles home.
Trump: “Excuse me, you DROPPED to your knees?”

    Brande: “Yes.”

Trump: “It must be a pretty picture, you dropping to your knees.”

    Dropped Cases

Chloe Goins, a former model who said Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 2008, ditched her civil lawsuit against him, the AP reported Tuesday. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office had declined to file criminal charges in the case. Goins, 25, was the youngest and most recent of Cosby’s accusers, according to USA Today.

I don’t think Ivanka would do that [pose for Playboy], although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.
Rosie O’Donnell is disgusting — both inside and out. If you take a look at her, she’s a slob. How does she even get on television? If I were running The View, I’d fire Rosie. I’d look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers and say, “Rosie, you’re fired.” We’re all a little chubby but Rosie’s just worse than most of us. But it’s not the chubbiness — Rosie is a very unattractive person, both inside and out.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave

    National Anthem

Just a month after the British had burned the White House during the height of the War of 1812, Key was aboard a British vessel negotiating the release of a friend who was being held prisoner. During Key’s time aboard the vessel, the British commenced an attack on Fort McHenry, and the pair was not allowed to leave. So Key and his friend watched from the ship as the British bombarded Fort McHenry.

There are historians (notably Robin Blackburn, author of The Overthrow of Colonial Slavery, 1776-1848, and Alan Taylor, author of “American Blacks in the War of 1812”), who have indeed read the stanza as glorying in the Americans’ defeat of the Corps of Colonial Marines, one of two units of black slaves recruited between 1808 and 1816 to fight for the British on the promise of gaining their freedom. Like so many of his compatriots, Francis Scott Key, the wealthy American lawyer who wrote “The Star-Spangled Banner” in the wake of the Battle of Fort McHenry on 14 September 1814, was a slaveholder who believed blacks to be “a distinct and inferior race of people, which all experience proves to be the greatest evil that afflicts a community.” It goes without saying that Key did not have the enslaved black population of America in mind when he penned the words “land of the free.” It would be logical to assume, as well, that he might have harbored a special resentment toward African Americans who fought against the United States on behalf of the King.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave Let’s break this down by definition:

    Refuge – A condition of being safe or sheltered;

Hireling – A person employed to undertake menial work

Slave – A person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them

A slave by definition is very different from a Hireling

    Claudette Colvin

Rosa Parks is well-known for her refusal to give up her seat to a white passenger on a public bus in Montgomery, Ala., in December 1955.

Claudette Colvin was just 15 when she refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama. It was nine months before Rosa Parks’ act of defiance in 1955.  But Parks’ civil rights protest did have a precedent: Fifteen-year-old Claudette Colvin, a student at a black high school in Montgomery, had refused to move from her bus seat nine months earlier. However, Colvin is not nearly as well-known, and certainly not as celebrated, as Parks.

“[The bus driver said], ‘Give me those seats,’” Colvin recalled. “Three of the girls got up and moved. But I remained seated.”

Colvin said she drew her strength from African-American abolitionists she had just learned about in school.

    Who are the Americans

Let’s be clear; folks came to this place called New Britain raped, plundered and killed the inhabitant (Native Individuals) and claimed property.  Then the grandfathers of the new land now known as America came and tried kill some of the people who left Britain, they lost and went back home but not without maintaining a great deal of authority and huge percentage tax of the dollars made here in this new land. For example – the Boston Tea Party happened as a result of “taxation without representation”, yet the cause is more complex than that. The American colonists believed Britain was unfairly taxing them to pay for expenses incurred during the French and Indian War. Additionally, colonists believed Parliament did not have the right to tax them because the American colonies were not represented in Parliament.

With a that said it still amazes me that black folk think this is their land and they have any rights to anything other than what is not needed by the folks who own “…this land is NOT your land.”  We still perpetuate the Rosa Parks story as if Claudette never existed. Which brings me to another point, the same way we dismiss Claudette who was too black, too pregnant and not married enough – we embrace this behavior today in 2016 as the commenter asked Cornell, “why don’t you use 2016” – well there is it.  We still look down of folks who have not come out of the projects; we shun folks who are not part of our cults, and we even shut our family members out when folks of another seem to embrace us.

Last note:  If your new found friendship with an elitist group embraces you if they are “true”,  they will embrace all of you, your illegitimate brother and sisters, jail-bound nephews, drug addicted aunts and uncles, holier than thou religious freaks, and the “plano” simple family member who could care less about degrees and dollars! But you see that won’t happen especially when  #office and #wealth become the gods of a people, and the most unworthy and unfit most aspire to the former, and fraud becomes the highway to the latter, the land will reek with falsehood and sweat #lies and chicane. (Albert Pike)

We Live in a World…”I have consistently preached that nonviolence demands that the means we use must be as pure as the ends we seek”

    we-live-in-a-world

This is best sign I have seen so far. Notice race isn’t brought up. We bring up the pressure of being a police officer, but don’t address what goes through a persons mind when a gun is put in their face by a police officer. I sympathize with anyone being killed unjustly. That includes the 5 police officers in Dallas. I hope we keep having open dialogue between law enforcement & the communities which they protect. We need as a society to think outside or ourselves. Do I think all cops are bad, NO. Do I know what it’s like to be black, NO. But I’m raising black kids. So this issue is important to me. When I hear Black Lives Matter, what I think ppl are saying is Black Ppl want to be safe & treated fairly, says Gary Owen

Folks are protesting, and people are getting killed during and around the protesting.  I’m quite sure this is very different from one the more successful protest, i.e. The Boston Tea Party,  or the many “non-violent” protest led by Martin Luther King.

It seems today is re-aligning itself with days gone by or have they gone anywhere?  Has the tree hangings turned in bullets raging across the lives of both innocent and guilty?

This complex social situation is perhaps best summed up by King himself in his “Letter from Birmingham Jail”, written to members of the Birmingham clergy and religious community who had urged patience and restraint of the civil rights movement. Of the Black Nationalist movement, King notes:

“The other force is one of bitterness and hatred, and it comes perilously close to advocating violence. It is expressed in the various black nationalist groups that are springing up across the nation, the largest and best-known being Elijah Muhammad’s Muslim movement. Nourished by the Negro’s frustration over the continued existence of racial discrimination, this movement is made up of people who have lost faith in America, who have absolutely repudiated Christianity, and who have concluded that the white man is an incorrigible “devil.” I have tried to stand between these two forces, saying that we need emulate neither the “do-nothingism” of the complacent nor the hatred and despair of the black nationalist. For there is the more excellent way of love and nonviolent protest.”

Have we has a people merely tolerated too much for too long?  Have we scraped the bottom of the barrel and found there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Have we been oppressed so long that even the Word of God no longer prevails?  Have ever actually given God a try?

Scripture states in II Timothy 3 –

3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

That’s some harsh direct information from Paul. He proclaimed we would be without self-control, boastful and proud sound a lot like some of us already falling into these categories.  If Paul was right and these are the signs of the “last days” how far are we from the “Last” day and if we are not even close I shutter to think what this world will look like next year based on the behavior of folks today.

  • Baltimore City State’s Attorney

    mosby

Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby gave a blistering speech Wednesday which explains why it is near impossible to convict police officers in this country.

In her speech, Mosby said she took an oath to “never cower” from cases where she believes she has probable cause. The case of Freddie Gray, whose spine was somehow severed in a police van, leading to his death, was one such cas

Mosby’s prosecution of the police officers involved in Gray’s death, however, saw no convictions. During Mosby’s twelve minute press conference, she lays out a stunning indictment against Baltimore police in explaining why the prosecutions imploded.

“There was a reluctance and obvious bias that was consistently exemplified, not by the entire Baltimore Police Department, but by individuals within the Baltimore Police Department at every stage of the investigation, which became blatantly apparent in the subsequent trial,” said Mosby.

“There were individual police officers who were witnesses to the case, yet were part of the investigative team,” said Mosby in a bombshell revelation. “Interrogations that were conducted without asking the most poignant questions, lead investigators that were totally uncooperative and started a counter-investigation to disprove the state’s case by not executing search warrants pertaining to text messages among the police officers involved in the case.”

Mosby also accused police investigators of “creating videos to disprove the state’s case, creating notes that were drafted after the case was launched to contradict the medial examiner’s conclusion.” She then accused the investigating officers of turning over these notes to the defense “months prior” to turning them over to the prosecution.

“We’ve all bore witness to an inherent bias that is the direct result of when police police themselves,” Mosby concluded.

Mosby revealed that she’d previously not been allowed to speak on the case due to a gag order.
